Montevideo,.- Uruguayan soccer activity was suspended in all categories after acts of violence were recorded this Saturday during a Second Division match between Rentistas and Cerrito corresponding to the eleventh round.
A statement from the Uruguayan Professional Footballers’ Mutual says that activity is being halted “as a consequence of the deplorable and unacceptable acts of violence that occurred after the match played between Rentistas and Cerrito, which caused serious injuries to a colleague.”

The document adds that the strike will remain in effect “until there are effective guarantees” that allow the work of all those involved to be carried out “in safe conditions.”
Rentistas and Cerrito played a match that ended in a goalless draw, although with controversy due to a disallowed goal, an event that left the atmosphere heated, and incidents were recorded at the end of the match which the home team even reported.

The ‘colorado’ team reported through a statement that it will file a formal complaint against the refereeing crew led by Bruno Sacarelo and his assistant Daniel Rodríguez.
The club states that the refereeing was “manifestly biased and partial” and asserts that its performance “deliberately harmed” Rentistas and directly influenced the development of the match.
