Santo Domingo,— President Luis Abinader assured this Monday that the Dominican Republic will make history with the celebration of the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games 2026, while the Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz, highlighted that the Government has allocated more than RD$5,000 million in the construction and remodeling of sports infrastructures throughout the country.

Both authorities highlighted that this investment is part of the national commitment to guarantee a historic, modern, and world-class event. For the preparation of Dominican athletes, the Government made a historic contribution of RD$315 million through the Dominican Olympic Committee, destined for training, training and payment to coaches, also a 100% increase was made to the high-performance athletes of PARNI. The country will host 40 sports, 57 disciplines and 63 modalities with 483 sporting events, distributed in eight venues: 26 in the National District, 23 in Santo Domingo, 2 in Santiago, 2 in Bonao, 1 in Punta Cana, 1 in Cabarete, 1 in Baní and 1 in Juan Dolio. The 2026 Games seek to promote inclusion, national unity, and the integration of sports clubs, universities, churches, businesses, and communities.
