The duo of Huw Nightingale and Charlotte Bankes dominated the competition from the preliminary rounds, setting the best times in the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final to secure the historic victory. With this victory, the British team adds its second gold medal in Milan-Cortina 2026, after the title won by Matt Weston in skeleton days ago. The achievement is especially relevant, as it is the first Olympic gold on snow for the country, which until now had accumulated fourteen gold medals in ice disciplines since 1908. The podium was completed by Italy and France. The hosts, represented by Lorenzo Sommariva and Michela Moioli, took the silver. For Moioli, it was her second medal in the mixed modality, after the runner-up achieved in 2022, in addition to having obtained bronze in the individual women's event in this same edition. Bronze went to the French pair formed by Loan Bozzolo and Léa Casta, while Australia finished in fourth position. The mixed team snowboard cross event held its second appearance in the Olympic program, after its debut in Beijing 2022, where the gold went to the United States, a team that did not manage to advance to the final on this occasion. With this performance, Great Britain writes its name in the Olympic history of winter sports and consolidates the growth of snowboarding within its competitive structure.
