Hulk Hogan died of a heart attack and suffered from leukemia, according to the coroner

Miami (USA) (EFE).- The cause of death of the American professional wrestler Hulk Hogan was an “acute myocardial infarction”, derived from “chronic lymphocytic leukemia”, according to forensic authorities in Florida after a week of his death.

The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) wrestler passed away at the age of 71 on July 24th at his home in Clearwater, Pinellas County. The heart attack that ended the life of Terrence Gene Bollea, his real name, was caused by a “history of atrial fibrillation, chronic lymphocytic leukemia,” detailed the Pinellas County medical examiner’s office, in west-central Florida. The coroner considered his death natural, caused by an acute myocardial infarction, which involves a sudden interruption of blood flow to the heart that can cause irreversible damage to the heart muscle, commonly known as a heart attack. The report first revealed that the WWE legend suffered from leukemia, a type of cancer that affects white blood cells, and atrial fibrillation, a disorder that causes cardiac arrhythmia, although it is unknown that he was aware of this diagnosis. In September 2024, the twelve-time world champion revealed on Logan Paul’s ‘Impaulsive’ podcast that he had had around “25 surgeries in the last ten years”, of which ten were back surgeries, in addition to having both knees, hips and shoulders replaced. On July 24th, emergency services went to Hogan’s house, where they tried to revive the wrestler for 30 minutes and then took him to a local hospital, where he was declared dead, less than 90 minutes after the doctors arrived at his home. Hogan had been married since September 2023 to yoga instructor Sky Daily, who explained that Hogan “had been dealing with health problems,” but assured that she did not expect this sudden loss.
