RD$4.5 million will benefit people with disabilities through the Yo También Puedo Foundation; RD$2 million will strengthen the iQ Academia educational program
Puntacana.— The third edition of the Golf Invitational Tournament and iQtek Pro-Am left a social footprint of historic proportions for the event: RD$6,500,000 raised over two days of competition at the Corales Golf Course of Puntacana Resort & Club this past June 12th and 13th.

Of that total, RD$4,500,000 were allocated entirely to the Yo También Puedo Foundation, a Dominican organization that develops education, rehabilitation, and social integration programs for people with disabilities; while RD$2,000,000 will strengthen the iQ Academy program of the iQtek Foundation itself, an initiative that promotes access to technological training for vulnerable Dominican youth.
Glenda Borbón, president of the iQtek Foundation, presided over the opening ceremony together with María Esperanza Haché, president of the Yo También Puedo Foundation, who jointly performed the ceremonial first tee-off of the competitive day. “It fills us with satisfaction to celebrate the third edition of our Invitational Golf Tournament, an initiative that allows us to continue impacting lives through education, inclusion, and the development of talent in our country. Each year we take on the challenge of exceeding expectations and continuing to strengthen this social support platform, thanks to the backing of our partner brands,” expressed Borbón.

The first day was the setting for the only Pro-Am at the social tournament level in the country, with the participation of 18 professional players from eight nations and one outstanding amateur. Competing for the Dominican Republic were professionals Willy Pumarol and Hiram Silfa. From the United States, Ryan Ellerbrock, Kameron Williams, Kevin Scherr, Leo Herrera, Luke Gifford, Anthony Garcia, Landon Michelson, JP Mehu, and Thomas Lilly stood out. Venezuela contributed Wolmer Murillo and Manuel Torres; Argentina, Jaime Lopez and Aram Yenidjeian; and the international field was completed by Brandon Lacasse (Canada), Linus Lilliedahl (Sweden), and Chris Paisley (England).
The professional field was accompanied by the veteran Dominican amateur Radhamés Peña.
On June 13, 128 golfers competed in a scramble format in pairs, with a 25% handicap, distributed into categories A, B, and C. The day concluded with an exclusive themed party inspired by the 1960s Hamptons, enlivened by live music from the Glam Band at the Puntacana Club.

In the individual professional category, the Venezuelan Manuel Torres took first place; the Dominican amateur Radhamés Peña took the second position; and the third place ended in a four-way tie between Kameron Williams, Willy Pumarol, Brandon Lacasse and Thomas Lilly.
In the team category, first place went to the team made up of Nicolás Quintero, José Mella, and Héctor Montes de Oca, together with professional Wolmer Murillo. Second place went to Yamil Alma, Sebastián Ramos, and Ney Deschamps, accompanied by professional Aram Yenidjeian. Third place went to José Cuello, Diego Pineda Jr., and Diego Pineda, under the guidance of professional Jaime López.
