Santo Domingo. The Ministry of Sports of the Dominican Republic inaugurated on Saturday afternoon a modern roof at the Ozama sports and cultural club in Santo Domingo East.

The event was led by Vice President Raquel Peña, Minister of Sports Kelvin Cruz, Indotel President Guido Gómez Mazara, and the mayor of Santo Domingo Este, Dio Astacio. “We are delivering a modern sports complex to this hardworking and historic sector nestled in the heart of Santo Domingo Este with an investment that exceeds ninety million pesos, hoping that the community will become watchdogs and protectors of this work,” said Minister Cruz in his speech.For her part, Vice President Raquel Peña highlighted that the central government headed by President Luis Abinader is clear that sport is one of the most suitable tools for the healthy development of children and young people because it keeps them away from vices and delinquency. Likewise, the Vice President, like Minister Cruz, invited the community to protect the work because it not only serves to practice sports but also for social, political, religious events, among others.
