Miami, FL.– Major League Baseball announced this Sunday morning the suspension of the Venezuelan left-handed pitcher of the Philadelphia Phillies, José Alvarado. The punishment will be for 80 games, without receiving his salary and he is ineligible for the postseason.
It's a hard blow for the organization that has World Series aspirations and had in Alvarado one of its best relievers.
According to the league's press release, José Alvarado tested positive for exogenous testosterone, a substance that helps improve performance.
