RD ranks among the top 100 in women's world football

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic Women's National Team surpassed the barrier of the top 100 teams in the FIFA Ranking, after the official publication by the governing body of football worldwide on Thursday, August 7, 2025. Dominican Republic ranked 99th with 1,201 points, climbing two positions compared to the last three rankings published by FIFA. At the Caribbean level, the Quisqueyanas are seventh and fourteenth in the entire Concacaf area.

In the last five years, the women's national team has sustained a growth that has led it to be among the top 100 teams again, the last time this happened being December 18, 2020 -position 97 with 1,173 points-. From there, the national team continued to lose positions until December 10, 2021, when it fell to the lowest place in its history -113 and 1,162 units-. The best historical record for the Dominican Republic women's national team occurred on March 26, 2009, when, with 1,239 accumulated points, it was ranked 81st in the world. The FIFA Women's Ranking is made up of 204 national teams from all over the planet.
