Santo Domingo. – The Best Buddies Dominican Republic, Inc. (BBRD) foundation officially announced the formation and inauguration of its new Board of Directors. This team of professionals assumes the strategic leadership of the entity with a firm commitment to expanding the impact of its social inclusion, leadership development, and employment opportunity programs for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The new Board of Directors stands out for being a multidisciplinary team composed of prominent leaders in their respective professional fields, which brings robust institutional and corporate weight to the foundation. The board was formed as follows:

President: Rosalía Mendoza, Managing Director of La Sociedad Consulting.
Vice President: Jaime Senior, Partner at the law firm Headrick Rizik Álvarez & Fernández.
Secretary: Sol Disla, Director of Corporate Communication, Brand Reputation and Responsible Banking at Banco Caribe.

One of the main new developments in this administration is the incorporation of Oscar Calderón, whose experience in senior academic management and executive training will add a key strategic vision for the institutional strengthening of the foundation’s educational and sustainability programs.

Likewise, the Board of Directors granted special recognition to the foundational work of Raquel Brea, lawyer, founder, and past president of the organization, who as of this period assumes the role of Honorary Member. After successfully leading the growth and positioning of Best Buddies in the country, Brea will continue to be closely linked to the entity, contributing her invaluable experience and legal and social vision.

Upon assuming the presidency, Rosalía Mendoza expressed her enthusiasm for guiding this new stage: “I take on this stage with much gratitude and excitement, accompanied by a team that deeply believes in this mission. Best Buddies has been part of my life for more than a decade and has taught me the power of inclusion when experienced firsthand: in friendship, in opportunities, and in the way we choose to look at and value others.
