Santo Domingo.- At just eight years old, Ian David Ferreira starred in one of the most emotional moments of the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States, held at the residence of the U.S. Ambassador, Leah Francis Campos. His performance of the Dominican National Anthem moved the nearly one thousand guests who attended the reception, including the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, becoming one of the most memorable moments of the evening.

The young artist was one of the winners of the “Voices of Freedom” contest, organized by the United States Embassy in Santo Domingo to select the performers of the national anthems during the ceremony. Thanks to his talent, Ian David had the honor of representing the Dominican Republic in an event of great significance for the relations between both countries.

On stage, he shared a historic moment with the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader; the First Lady, Raquel Arbaje; and Ambassador Leah Francis Campos. While the group Casi Grupo, also Dominican, performed the United States national anthem, Ian David was in charge of singing the Dominican National Anthem, demonstrating confidence, sensitivity, and outstanding vocal quality despite his young age.

Although he is just beginning his artistic journey, Ian David has already built a career that reflects his passion for the arts. He is a singer, musician, actor, and television presenter, and is part of the children’s program Topi Tok, where he has developed his skills in front of cameras and audiences, while also participating in various artistic projects.

His talent has also led him to stand out on important national stages. In 2025, he became the first finalist of the Pequeños Grandes Talentos competition, where he captivated the jury and the audience with his voice. Likewise, he has participated in campaigns with the Dominican Government and in social impact initiatives, including the UNICEF Telethon.

Ian David’s performance at the Freedom 250 celebration represents a new achievement in his promising career. His participation was made possible after winning one of the top spots in the “Voices of Freedom” contest, an initiative through which the United States Embassy sought to highlight young Dominican artistic talent and strengthen cultural ties between both nations through music.

With a performance that sparked applause and emotions among the attendees, Ian David Ferreira proved that talent has no age. His performance at one of the most important diplomatic celebrations of the year not only highlighted his artistic qualities, but also demonstrated that he is one of the young promises of Dominican talent.
