More than 1,600 people impacted by their 2025 Community Medical Missions
La Altagracia.- The Puntacana Group reaffirms, once again, its commitment to the health and well-being of the communities in its environment, through the free medical care provided by its Puntacana Foundation (FPC). During the last year, the foundation carried out four Community Medical Missions, benefiting more than 1,600 people, including children and adults, in vulnerable communities in the province of La Altagracia, including Verón, Friusa-Bávaro, El Cortecito-Bávaro, Cabeza de Toro, Peñón de los Reyes, La Ceiba and El Macao. All the care and services offered during these days were provided free of charge, as part of the sustained social commitment of the Puntacana Foundation to equitable access to health.Since 2006, the Puntacana Foundation has assumed the mission of facilitating access to health services and promoting the integral well-being of the most vulnerable communities in the province, in alliance with academic institutions and international medical organizations such as Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) and Duquesne University. In 2025, this commitment was materialized through the realization of three general medicine missions and one dentistry mission, all with a duration of five days.
The general medicine missions, developed in the months of March, June, and October 2025, were carried out in collaboration with Duquesne University and VCOM. During these days, general medicine consultations were offered for children and adults, medication delivery, and preventive medicine talks, contributing to the early detection of diseases and the strengthening of health education. You can also read: Puntacana Foundation and Gamma Asset Management alliance
For its part, the dentistry mission, carried out in November 2025 in the community of Verón, was carried out together with Action for Smiles. This day included caries correction, extractions, sealants, oral education and the delivery of oral hygiene kits, reaching a total of 906 dental procedures and 220 medical evaluations, both in children and adults.
The missions were attended by medical personnel from the United States, as well as local doctors from the Oscar de la Renta Pediatric Care Center and the Verón Primary Care Unit, strengthening a collaborative model of comprehensive care. It is noted that, in each medical mission, a patient registry was carried out, and those cases that required specialized follow-up were promptly referred to these health centers, guaranteeing the continuity of medical care. In addition to the medical staff, the valuable support of the student volunteers from the Máximo Potencial Educational Center was highlighted, as well as the constant accompaniment of the students from the Puntacana International School. Similarly, community leaders play a key role in the convening and accompaniment of the days, working in an articulated manner with the Puntacana Foundation. With these actions, Grupo Puntacana and its Foundation continue to strengthen their social impact and reaffirm their commitment to access to health, disease prevention, and the improvement of the quality of life of the communities in the East of the country.About Puntacana Foundation
