Santo Domingo. – The rains continue to affect different areas of the country due to an active tropical wave with cyclonic potential, according to predictor Christopher Florian of the Dominican Institute of Meteorology.
The phenomenon has concentrated the greatest precipitation activity in the province of La Altagracia, as well as in La Romana, where constant downpours have been recorded since the early hours of this Thursday. For this reason, alert levels and meteorological warnings remain in effect in several locations.
Florian explained that, as tropical waves move from east to west, rain is expected in other provinces such as Gran Santo Domingo, San Cristóbal, San José de Ocoa, Monseñor Nouel, La Vega and Santiago, although so far the latter have not reported flooding.
Authorities urged the population to remain attentive to the upcoming bulletins, as rainfall is expected to continue during the morning and afternoon of Friday.
