Guadalajara.- The General Prosecutor’s Office of the State of Nayarit confirmed this Friday the death of 11 people and 31 injured in the municipality of Amatlán de Cañas, bordering Jalisco, after the overturning of a tourist bus from the Transportation line that came from the town of San Pedro Tlaquepaque and was heading to a recreational center in Nayarit.
Without specifying the cause of the rollover, Mexican authorities specified that six people died at the scene and five in hospitals.
He also pointed out that, according to the recent count of the injured, there are around four injured minors, the youngest named Dereck Uriel Hernandez, 2 years old.
“Elements of the Investigation Police, agents of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and experts, in coordination with various emergency and security corporations, are carrying out the corresponding procedures, as well as attention, scene processing and support to the affected people,” specified the statement shared by the prosecution.

For its part, the Government of Nayarit detailed in a message on social media that the accident occurred seven kilometers from Amatlán de Cañas at the height of the town of Pie de la Cuesta.
“In coordination with authorities from the state of Jalisco, Nayarit Firefighters, State Police, the Drone Unit (Condor), the State Attorney General’s Office, and Municipal Civil Protection maintain a presence in the area, carrying out attention, assistance, and area security work,” he elaborated.
The government of Jalisco (western Mexico) reported that, in coordination with the emergency medical services of Nayarit, it attended to and transferred 21 injured people, of whom 20 were diagnosed with relatively urgent injuries due to various polytraumas.

Paramedics also transferred a 38-year-old man who had a chest contusion and was in serious condition to a hospital of the Mexican Social Security Institute in Tala, Jalisco, about 80 kilometers from the accident site.
The governor of Jalisco, Pablo Lemus Navarro, announced on his social media that the entity “will assume the funeral and transportation costs of the deceased as well as the medical care of those injured.”
In addition, it was indicated that communication is maintained with the governor of Nayarit, Miguel Ángel Navarro, to coordinate the work, as well as with the affected families “to ensure that they lack nothing in this complicated situation.”
Also, the governor of Nayarit, Miguel Ángel Navarro, regretted the tragic accident while expressing his condolences to the victims’ families.
