Samaná.– President Luis Abinader stated this Saturday that the province of Samaná is undergoing a transformation process driven by the investments the Government is making in infrastructure, health, land titling, and job creation.
The president led the “First You” social inclusion day in the Wilmore sector, Santa Bárbara de Samaná municipality, where more than 3,000 people benefited and the repair and renovation of 35 homes were carried out, in addition to the construction of four houses.
During the activity, held at the Zuleica Acosta Polytechnic, Abinader highlighted that Samaná is experiencing a development process driven by significant investments aimed at boosting the economy and improving the quality of life for its inhabitants.
“Samaná is not only advancing to create jobs, with that great port in Arroyo Barril that is being built, but also with the remodeling of the Samaná city port, the works on the entrance avenue, the land titles we have issued, the remodeling of the hospital, and many other works that we are building to solve people’s problems,” he expressed.
Government close to the people
Abinader explained that, in addition to infrastructure works, the Government is strengthening its social inclusion policy by bringing public services directly to communities through the “Primero Tú” (First You) sessions, developed within the framework of the Government With You program.

“We are here continuing with the ‘First You’ social inclusion day, a Government With You project that we are carrying out throughout the country and that today arrives in the province of Samaná,” he stated.
The head of State highlighted that more than 20 government institutions participated in the event to guide citizens on the programs and services available.
“People need social aid and also to know about government institutions. We want them to know where to turn when a family member, a neighbor, or someone in their community has a need,” he/she indicated.

Likewise, he urged community leaders and residents to become multipliers of this information so that more citizens can benefit from the programs offered by the Government.
The president concluded by reaffirming his administration’s commitment to the most vulnerable families.
“That is what this Government is for: to serve its people and, especially, those who need it most,” he expressed.
Solutions that transform communities
During the day, the director of PROPEEP, Robert Polanco, highlighted that the institution continues to bring concrete responses to the most needy families through actions aimed at promoting social inclusion and the dignification of households.
“Our commitment is to continue working alongside communities so that the social policies of President Luis Abinader’s government reach those who need them most directly. Every home we build, every roof we replace, and every community project we deliver represents an opportunity to transform lives and build more dignified communities,” stated Polanco.
Likewise, he pointed out that PROPEEP will continue to execute social and community projects that contribute to reducing poverty and improving the living conditions of thousands of Dominican families.

Community impact works
As part of the comprehensive intervention, the Presidential Commission for Neighborhood Development Support built alleys and internal access roads with concrete aggregate, facilitating the mobility of residents.
In addition, he conditioned and restored the sector’s basketball court, strengthening a space for community integration and recreation for children and young people.
DASAC actions strengthen the intervention
The Directorate of Social and Community Assistance (DASAC) complemented the day with the distribution of 5,000 raw food rations through door-to-door operations in the municipalities of Sánchez and Santa Bárbara de Samaná.
The aid reached communities such as Wilmore, El Caimito, La Mezcla, Zapatica, La Batida I and II, Loma del Telecable, Honduras, Manhattan, Acosta (Tesón), Anadel, Villa Clara, Carenero, Los Yagrumos, La Flecha, and Los Cacaos.
The institution also put into operation the Sánchez Community Dining Hall, with the capacity to produce and distribute 5,000 cooked rations daily, strengthening food security in that municipality and nearby communities.
Likewise, the DASAC furnished 55 homes by providing household appliances and goods to vulnerable families and, in coordination with the Presidential Commission for Neighborhood Development Support, executed the roofing of 100 homes with an investment of RD$6.5 million in construction materials.
The actions also included the delivery of fans to the Espíritu Santo Catholic Church in Los Cacaos, the strengthening of community organizations, and the equipping of the Las Galeras Technical School.
In total, the interventions executed by DASAC represented an investment of RD$15.8 million in the province of Samaná.
During the day, the National Health Insurance (Senasa), the National Institute for Comprehensive Early Childhood Care (INAIPI), the Institute for Aid and Housing (INAVI), Supérate, the National Council for the Elderly (CONAPE), the National Council for Disability (CONADIS), the Ministry of Public Health, the National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI), and the National Institute for Technical Vocational Training (INFOTEP) also participated, bringing services and direct assistance to hundreds of families.
