Miami.- The airline American Airlines launched a new route between Miami and Rome as part of an increase in its activity at Miami International Airport, where the airline expects to deploy the largest number of operations in its history this summer.

To this end, he specified that it will operate more than 37,200 flights between May 16 and September 2 with destination or departure from Miami, and will increase those bound for Chicago (ORD), Las Vegas (LAS), Montego Bay (MBJ), Los Angeles (LAX) and New York (LGA).
Currently, the airline operates 170 destinations from Miami airport, 90 of them exclusive, the statement added.
Miami International Airport was one of the ten busiest airports in the United States in 2024, according to data from the governmental Bureau of Transportation Statistics.
In addition, it was the fourth-largest cargo airport -based on tons received-, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
According to American Airlines, the airport offers more flights to Latin America and the Caribbean than any other U.S. airfield and is also the main economic engine of Miami-Dade County and the state of Florida, generating commercial revenue of 118 billion dollars and representing approximately 60% of all international visitors arriving in Florida annually.
