Another femicide is recorded in less than 24 hours: a 20-year-old woman was murdered by her ex-partner in Los Girasoles

Saturday night in Dajabón, the first femicide of the weekend was recorded, when a man killed his 33-year-old partner.

Santo Domingo.- This Sunday morning, another femicide was recorded in the Los Girasoles sector, when a young woman Noemí Suárez Marte, 20 years old, was shot to death inside the residence where she lived with her family, allegedly at the hands of her ex-partner, from whom she had been separated for several months. According to neighbors' accounts, the aggressor arrived at the house around 8:00 a.m. and was met by the young woman's father, who informed him that his daughter was sleeping in her room. According to the preliminary report, the man asked for permission to go to the bathroom and minutes later went to the young woman's room, where he shot her. After committing the crime, the aggressor hurriedly left the building and fled, while the family members, in a state of shock, alerted the authorities.

Hours later, the National Police reported the arrest of Amauri Polanco Herrera, 22 years old, identified as the alleged perpetrator of the act. Noemí died due to a gunshot wound in the left orbital region, according to the death certificate.
