Arajet inaugurates its new route to Chicago with 3 weekly flights

Chicago.- The Dominican airline Arajet inaugurated its direct connection between Punta Cana International Airport and Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD), consolidating its expansion in the United States. Manuel Luna, Head of Communication and Public Affairs at Arajet, stated that flying to Chicago O’Hare International Airport, one of the most important in the world, represents a new milestone for Arajet in its continuous expansion throughout the United States. Furthermore, he explained that this new route opens the skies to connect Chicago with the beauty of Punta Cana, and from there with the rest of the region, while offering the Dominican community in Chicago a direct and affordable way to travel to their country. The new route will operate with three weekly flights: Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays from with more than 2,200 weekly seats, and will offer a direct, comfortable and economical option for those who wish to visit this city for tourism or business.

Chicago's incorporation into the Arajet network represents a key strategic step. The Dominican Ministry of Tourism has identified Chicago as a potential market; according to its data, more than 138,000 tourists from Chicago traveled to the Dominican Republic by air in 2024. That figure demonstrates that the Dominican-origin community in Illinois and the interest of local travelers in the Caribbean make the Midwest a key market.
