Santo Domingo. – The Association of Hotels and Tourism of the Dominican Republic (Asonahores) presented the XXXVIII Trade Exhibition 2026, which will bring together more than 300 stands of Dominican and international suppliers in categories covering food, beverages, technology, financial services, furniture, kitchen equipment, and energy solutions, an X-ray of the productive linkage that tourism activates in practically all sectors of the local economy.

The announcement was made during a launch cocktail party that brought together representatives from the tourism sector, business owners, sponsors, suppliers, and the media. The main business platform for the Dominican tourism industry will be held from September 2 to 4, 2026, at BlueMall Punta Cana.

The composition of the exhibition offer reveals the transversal scope of the industry. Behind every occupied room operates a chain of agri-food, industrial, financial, and technological suppliers that finds in the exhibition its annual meeting point with buyers from the hotel sector.

Juan Bancalari, president of Asonahores, highlighted the importance of the exhibition as an engine for economic integration for the country. “Each edition of the Commercial Exhibition reaffirms that tourism is much more than an economic activity; it is an integration platform that connects hundreds of companies, producers, entrepreneurs, and suppliers with one of the fastest-growing industries in the Dominican Republic. This space drives productive linkages, promotes innovation, and generates development opportunities that positively impact the entire national economy,” stated Bancalari.

Aguie Lendor, Executive Vice President of Asonahores, highlighted the constant evolution of the event and the innovations incorporated for this edition. “This year we incorporated new technological tools, expanded business opportunities, and strengthened networking spaces to offer a more efficient, modern experience aligned with international industry trends,” Lendor noted.

Among the innovations of this edition are an optimized planogram with strategic space distribution to improve the experience for exhibitors and visitors, a new web portal with an interactive system for stand selection, and automated accreditation points using dynamic QR codes that will streamline access to the event.

The complementary agenda will include specialized forums with high-value content for the industry, as well as the traditional UNABAR Cup and the National Barista Competition sponsored by INDUBAN, activities that enrich the attendees’ experience and promote the exchange of knowledge and best practices.

As part of its innovation and visibility strategy, Asonahores will develop robust real-time digital coverage to amplify the reach of exhibitors and commercial partners. Likewise, it will renovate its traditional business lounge, conceived as an exclusive space for strategic meetings and the closing of high-level negotiations.

Sustainability will continue to be a cross-cutting theme of the exhibition through the implementation of digital tools for consulting the floor plan, directory, and general event information, significantly reducing the printing of materials and contributing to lowering its environmental impact.

Similarly, the association reaffirmed its commitment to local development by celebrating more than ten consecutive years of integrating and promoting the participation of Dominican artisans within the exhibition, strengthening the connection between tourism and productive communities.

The organizers reported that, at the time of this launch cocktail, more than 70% of the available spaces are already reserved, reflecting the confidence of the business sector and the high expectations for the 2026 edition.

The XXXVIII Commercial Exhibition 2026 is backed by the Ministry of Tourism and supported by important sponsoring companies and institutions, including Agente de Cambios Quezada, Altron Trading Group, Banco BHD, Banco López de Haro, Banco Popular Dominicano, Banreservas, CEPM, Cervecería de Punta Cana CANITA, Darío Auto Paint, Grupo Naranja, INDUBAN, INDUVECA, INPROTEC, Mercasid, Reid & Compañía, Scotiabank, SIMPEX, Solution Box, Therrestra, and Tonos y Colores.

With this new edition, ASONAHORES reaffirms its commitment to continue strengthening the ties between the different productive sectors that drive Dominican tourism, contributing to the sustainable growth and competitiveness of one of the most important industries for the country’s economic development.
