Santo Domingo.– The weather conditions affecting New York City this Friday have caused the cancellation and delay of several flights to and from the Dominican Republic, reported Aeropuertos Dominicanos Siglo XXI (AERODOM). The situation has caused inconvenience for dozens of passengers at Las Américas International Airport (AILA).
According to the company, the modifications to the itineraries are in response to operational restrictions applied at New York airports due to bad weather, which has affected the normal flow of air operations.
AERODOM’s corporate director, Luis López, explained that the cancellations are due exclusively to the weather conditions recorded in that city, which has forced some airlines to adjust their schedules.
Among the canceled flights is JetBlue B6-2510, which was scheduled to depart from Santo Domingo to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) at 3:41 in the afternoon. Flight B6-1850, scheduled to depart at 5:30 in the afternoon to the same destination, was also suspended.
Likewise, the arrival flight B6-09, coming from JFK airport, which was scheduled to arrive at Las Américas International Airport at 8:38 p.m., was also canceled.
In addition to the cancellations, several operations are experiencing delays, including JetBlue flight B6-330 bound for Boston and Arajet flights 2100 and 2171 bound for Miami, whose schedules were modified due to weather conditions.

Flight disruptions have caused long lines at airline counters, where numerous passengers are seeking information about rescheduling, itinerary changes, and alternatives to reach their destinations. Some expressed concern about missing connections, work commitments, or family activities.
Airline and airport staff provide assistance to travelers to facilitate their rebooking on other flights, based on seat availability once operations return to normal.
AERODOM reported that, for the moment, arrival flights from New York remain scheduled. Among them are the B6-1009, with a scheduled landing at 2:00 PM, and the B6-1849, whose arrival is scheduled for 3:46 PM.
The company recommended that passengers stay in contact with their respective airlines and check the status of their flights before heading to the airport, as weather conditions could continue to cause schedule changes throughout the rest of the day.
