​Banco BHD and ProDominicana sign agreement to boost women-led SMEs

The alliance seeks to offer comprehensive solutions to strengthen the productivity, competitiveness, and international projection of SMEs led by women. Santo Domingo.- Banco BHD and the Export and Investment Center of the Dominican Republic (ProDominicana) signed a strategic agreement aimed at strengthening small and medium-sized enterprises led by women, through training programs, technical advice and access to specialized financial solutions. As part of this alliance, both institutions are committed to developing joint programs for women entrepreneurs, including technical and training assistance to improve business management and export capacity, support in internationalization processes, allowing them to position their brands in global markets, as well as promoting innovation, access to credit and business training, strengthening their strategic and operational skills to boost competitiveness.

Steven Puig, president of Banco BHD, stated that "this agreement with ProDominicana reaffirms our vision of promoting financial inclusion and female leadership in the business sector. We believe in the talent of women and their ability to generate value and transform the country's economy". Likewise, Biviana Riveiro, executive director of ProDominicana, stated that "with this alliance we strengthen women entrepreneurs' access to tools that allow them to transcend borders. Our goal is to accompany them in their internationalization process and contribute to making their businesses more competitive and sustainable." Another initiative of the agreement is to create and develop the program Women who transcend borders, aimed at providing training and capacity building to women SMEs interested in foreign trade. The agreement was signed by Puig and Riveiro.
