Barrick Pueblo Viejo Appoints Gisselle Valera as President and Spokesperson

Barrick Pueblo Viejo appointed Gisselle Valera as the new president of Barrick Pueblo Viejo, replacing former president Juana Barceló.

Barrick explained that Valera has effectively performed this leadership role since his appointment in June and, as president, will act as the spokesperson.

In addition, he will continue to report directly to Mark Hill, the mining company's chief operating officer for Latin America and Asia Pacific.

A company statement indicates that this appointment responds to the objective of continuing to bet on strategic advancement to strengthen the most important mining operation in the Dominican Republic and promote sustainability and innovation in all its operations.

Valera has more than 16 years of experience in government relations, energy regulation and both national and international transactions, assumes the leadership of the company with a strong commitment to operational excellence. Likewise, it maintains responsible practices that reinforce Pueblo Viejo's position as a benchmark in the industry.
