Carmen Quijano de Aguilera assumes presidency of Voluntariado Banreservas

Promises to reinforce social plans in the organization and launch new initiatives Santo Domingo.- The new president of the Banreservas Volunteer Program, Dr. Carmen Alicia Quijano de Aguilera, affirmed that she will expand and reinforce the social programs carried out by this organization, while launching other initiatives for the benefit of Dominican society. Upon assuming the new functions, Quijano de Aguilera highlighted that the Volunteer Program fulfills the responsibility of carrying out programs for the preservation of the environment, inclusion, public health, education, and permanent interaction with the bank’s collaborators and its subsidiaries.


“These programs will be driven as needed, expanded and reinforced, so that the Social Responsibility policies of the new executive president are reflected in each sector where these initiatives are directed,” he expressed.


Quijano de Aguilera, who is a physician by training, said she felt honored to assume the presidency of the Banreservas Volunteer Program, an institution that since 1979 has had a great social impact through multiple programs for the benefit of Dominican society.

He added that he will carry out a management aimed at supporting the vision of the Volunteer Program, to be an organization that contributes to social welfare and sustainable human development of the country, with plans and projects that will continue to prioritize the most vulnerable sectors.
Among the most outstanding programs of this non-profit entity are Vida, through which it carries out continuous days of exchange of plastic waste for food on the banks of the Ozama rivers, in Santo Domingo, and Yaque, in Santiago.


Another outstanding program is Reservas del Futuro, designed to offer scholarships to outstanding high school students from public schools, in addition to managing the Educlic digital platform, which has educational resources adapted to each stage of the young people, who can consult it for free.
