Turning Point USA, founded by the late activist Charlie Kirk, announced “The All American Halftime Show”, a show parallel to the official Super Bowl show that seeks to offer a patriotic alternative to the event headlined by Bad Bunny, as the main artist of the official event. The decision for Bad Bunny to be the headlining artist for the show scheduled for February 8, 2026, has generated strong criticism from conservatives. Through its social media, the entity promised to soon reveal the names of the participating artists and the details of the show. On its website, the organization invites the public to select which musical genres they prefer for the show, heading the list with the option "Anything in English", a clear reference to the fact that Bad Bunny sings mostly in Spanish. Conservative figures criticized the decision for political and cultural reasons.

Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, the artist's given name, is a U.S. citizen born in Puerto Rico, has been an outspoken critic of former President Donald Trump's immigration policies, and in recent years refused to perform on the U.S. mainland for fear of actions by immigration authorities. Trump himself publicly questioned the choice of singer for the country's most-watched sporting event. "I don't know who he is, I don't know why they're doing it. It's crazy," he declared in an interview with Newsmax. Bad Bunny, for his part, has responded with humor to the criticisms. During his appearance on the season premiere of Saturday Night Live, he told the audience that they had "four months to learn Spanish before the big game."
