Santiago de los Caballeros.-With a massive free concert by Chiquito Team Band, Santiago kicked off the Santiago Apóstol El Mayor 2026 Patron Saint Festivities this Thursday night, July 16, marking the beginning of ten days of religious, cultural, sports, and artistic celebrations dedicated to the patron saint of the Heart City.
The performance of the popular salsa group became the main attraction of the opening day, gathering hundreds of people who enjoyed an atmosphere of joy and fellowship in the city’s historic center.
The festivities, organized by the Archdiocese of Santiago and the Permanent Committee of the Patron Saint Festivals, will take place until July 25 under the slogan “Santiago will be celebrating from July 16 to 25,” with a broad agenda that includes Eucharists, concerts, exhibitions, activities for the whole family, and sporting events.

As part of the program, ecclesiastical authorities and organizers invited the population to participate actively and in an orderly manner in the different activities, highlighting the spiritual, cultural, and traditional value of one of Santiago’s most emblematic celebrations.
