Santo Domingo.– The Emergency Operations Center (COE) urged small and fragile vessel operators this Monday not to go out to sea along a stretch of the Caribbean coast due to abnormal waves affecting that area.
The recommendation covers the coastline between Isla Beata, in Pedernales, and La Ciénaga, in Barahona, where maritime conditions pose a risk to the navigation of small vessels.
For the rest of the Caribbean coast, the agency indicated that vessels may operate with caution, avoiding moving away from the coastal strip while adverse conditions persist.

The COE explained that the measure was adopted following the bulletin issued by the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet), which also forecasts downpours associated with a trough. Despite the expected rains, temperatures will remain high, with maximums between 33 and 35 degrees Celsius.
