Santiago. - An intense day of protests was recorded this Sunday in the municipal district of Limón in Villa González, following the death of the young student Ángel Miguel Santos, 20 years old, known as Papucho, who was run over on Saturday night by a patrol of the National Police, an event that has unleashed great indignation among the residents. The incident, which is under investigation, reportedly occurred when the police vehicle was traveling at high speed down the community's main street and struck the young man, who died at the scene. Other people were injured and taken to a health center, although their condition is still unknown. Residents claim that this event is just the tip of the iceberg, denouncing constant police abuses in the area, especially against young people. "We will go to the ultimate consequences so that those responsible pay with the full weight of the law," expressed Antony Luciano, cousin of the victim, visibly affected. Among the demands, the community members requested the transfer of the sergeant identified as acting in the patrol, to avoid further abuses. They state that similar situations have already been recorded, and that this time they will not allow the case to go unpunished. Due to the tensions, police authorities sent reinforcements from Santiago with the aim of controlling the situation and preventing the protests from escalating. As the investigation progresses, the community continues to clamor for justice for Papucho, a beloved young student in the area, whose death has generated a deep feeling of pain and anger among its inhabitants.
