Court of Auditors promotes municipal compliance in Santiago

Santo Domingo.– With the purpose of strengthening transparency and regulatory compliance in the municipal administration, the Chamber of Accounts (CCRD) continued this Friday with its program of Socialization Days on Sworn Declaration and Accountability, in Santiago. The mayor of Santiago, Ulises Rodríguez , highlighted in his speech the commitment to external control through compliance with legal provisions.

expresó.
On the other hand, lawyer Maritza Cruz highlighted the supervisory role, reaffirming the institutional commitment to an effective accountability system, based on the principles of legality, transparency, and efficiency.

In addition, auditors and analysts from the constitutional body addressed issues such as the purpose of municipal audits, common weaknesses identified, frequent violations of the Public Procurement and Contracting Law, failures to comply with the principle of transparency, and the importance of accountability as established by the Constitution and the laws. During the day, several municipal authorities took the opportunity to approach and complete their files, some of which had salary retention for non-compliance with their legal duties. Other officials who started the process were given educational material with the necessary instructions to complete it satisfactorily.
