Santo Domingo.– The former Minister of Public Works, Deligne Ascensión Burgos, described the work Municipal Law (176-07) Annotated with Comments, Jurisprudence and Doctrine, written by lawyer and municipal expert Marcos Jesús Colón Arache, as an important contribution to Dominican municipal law.
During the book’s launch, Ascensión highlighted the author’s career in public administration, municipal management, and the academic field, asserting that this experience makes the publication a reference tool for those who apply and interpret municipal legislation.
“It is an important contribution to the country’s legal bibliography. Every legal text, in order to be correctly applied, must be understood, and that is precisely what this work seeks: to explain and provide an understanding of each of its articles,” he stated.
The former official also considered that municipal legislation must evolve as the needs of the State and local governments change, which is why he valued the proposals contained in the publication to strengthen the current regulatory framework.

The work, presented at the Catholic University of Santo Domingo (UCSD), gathers comments, doctrine, and jurisprudence on Law 176-07 of the National District and Municipalities, with the purpose of serving as a guide for judges, lawyers, public officials, municipal authorities, academics, and law students.
