The director of the Gaza Peace Council made an urgent call to respect the current ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, in order to allow the technocratic administration to enter the area and begin its functions.
During his intervention in an international forum, he emphasized that any attempt to introduce to the committee while violations of the cessation of hostilities continue would prevent the effort from being effective. "We must ensure that this happens now and that the ceasefire violations stop," he stated.
He also stressed the need to avoid consolidating the status quo in Gaza, currently divided between Israel and Hamas, and assured that the technocratic administration must gradually assume administrative activities in the territory.

Although the ceasefire came into effect in October 2025, acts of violence have been recorded in the area, including casualties from shots fired by the Israeli Army. The humanitarian situation remains critical, with thousands of Palestinians dead and injured since the beginning of the recent clashes.
The call seeks to ensure that the temporary peace translates into a real opportunity for the technocratic administration to stabilize the region and improve the conditions of the affected population.
