PANAMA. The Dominican Poultry Association (ADA) assumed the presidency of the Federation of Poultry Farmers of Central America and the Caribbean (Fedavicac) during the celebration of the XXVII Central American and Caribbean Poultry Congress 2025, which is taking place at the Panama Convention Center, with the participation of 2,086 delegates from more than 28 countries.
The information was provided by Pavel Concepción, president of the ADA, who headed the Dominican delegation along with Miguel Lajara, Gregory Marte, Jochy Polanco, Wilfredo Cabrera, Juan Lucas Alba, Sergio Jiménez, Binelly López, Félix Henríquez, Federico Cabrera and Welvin Polanco.
Concepción highlighted that this achievement constitutes a recognition of the dynamism of Dominican poultry farming and announced that, thanks to the designation of Fedavicac, the Dominican Republic will host the Central American and Caribbean Congress in 2027.
The ADA's election took place unanimously, within the framework of the federation's rotating mechanism. In this same meeting, the National Association of Poultry Farmers of Panama (Anavip) was also designated to assume the vice presidency.
The XXVII Congress brings together international experts, leading companies, producers, and authorities to discuss innovation, sustainability, and the challenges of the sector in the region.
The program includes more than 40 keynote lectures and expert panels, addressing highly relevant topics such as the epidemiology and control of emerging avian diseases, the application of artificial intelligence and data analysis in production, nutrition and sustainability with a focus on reducing the carbon footprint, as well as animal welfare and biosecurity as pillars of modern poultry farming.
In addition, the congress features a commercial exhibition and specialized workshops, consolidating Panama as a hub of innovation and knowledge for the regional poultry industry.
