Emotional “In Memoriam” at Premios Soberano honors victims of the Jet Set and artists who passed away in 2025

Santo Domingo.– The forty-first edition of the Soberano Awards was marked by the moving “In Memoriam” segment, in which tribute was paid to the 236 victims of the Jet Set tragedy, as well as to the Dominican artists, communicators and personalities who died during the year 2025. The tribute was led by singer Martha Heredia, who emotionally performed the songs “Volveré” and “Sobreviviré”, popularized by the late merengue singer Rubby Pérez, one of the victims of that tragic event of April 8, 2025. During the presentation, images of the deceased were projected, creating an atmosphere of respect, achieving a standing ovation from the attendees in the Carlos Piantini Hall of the Eduardo Nacional National Theater.

The space also featured the participation of the group Barak, who performed the song “Everything will be alright“, providing a message of faith and hope in the midst of pain. The tribute highlighted not only the loss of prominent figures of national art, but also the human impact of the Jet Set tragedy, reaffirming the importance of keeping alive the memory of those who passed away.
