ETED work will cause scheduled blackouts this Thursday in several municipalities of Santiago

Santiago.- The Empresa Distribuidora de Electricidad del Norte (EDENORTE Dominicana) reported that temporary interruptions of the electrical service will be registered this Thursday, January 29, in several municipalities of the province of Santiago, due to maintenance work scheduled by the Empresa de Transmisión Eléctrica Dominicana (ETED). According to the statement, the work will be carried out on the 69 kV Canabacoa-Playa Dorada Transmission Line, between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., as part of the preventive maintenance plan that ETED is developing to reinforce the stability and reliability of the National Interconnected Electrical System (SENI). EDENORTE explained that the works will impact clients located in the municipalities of Santiago de los Caballeros, Puñal, Tamboril, Licey Al Medio and the municipal district of Pedro García, corresponding to the circuits CANA101, CANA103, CANA105 and CANA106, as well as DPED101, DPED105, ELJI101, MVCI101, PPRI101, ZFLI101 and PGAR401.

These interruptions will affect residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors, including main avenues, residential areas, educational centers, industries, hotels, commercial zones, free trade zones, agro-industrial companies, fuel stations, gas plants, and water pumping systems. Among the impacted communities are Canabacoa, Barrio Obrero, Los Álamos, Puñal Adentro, Limonal, Las Palomas, the Cibao International Airport, as well as free zones of Guazumal, Canca La Piedra and Licey, as well as important industries in the region. The distributor clarified that these interruptions are not related to failures in the distribution system, but rather to technical transmission work carried out by ETED, necessary to improve the security and efficiency of the electrical service in the medium and long term.

EDENORTE asked for understanding from the population for the temporary inconveniences that may arise, urged users to take the necessary precautions during the announced hours and reiterated its commitment to keep its customers informed and minimize the impact of these tasks, as part of the efforts to strengthen the electrical infrastructure in the North region.
