Santo Domingo.– With emotion, gratitude, and the humor that has always characterized her, journalist and presenter Eveling Belliard said goodbye this Friday to “Telenoticias,” the flagship newscast of Telesistema, ending a career of nearly 40 years in one of the most iconic newsrooms of Dominican television.
For decades, the phrase “May God be in this space” marked the beginning of each news day for Belliard, becoming a hallmark of a communicator admired for her professionalism, sobriety, and commitment to the practice of journalism.
Surrounded by the affection of colleagues, technicians, producers, and executives, the veteran presenter closed an important chapter of her professional life amidst a farewell filled with emotions and memories.
Without losing his characteristic sense of humor, Belliard managed to elicit smiles during the broadcast by expressing:
“I haven’t died, ladies and gentlemen”, he said amidst laughter, while trying to hold back the tears caused by the magnitude of the moment.

The communicator also surprised viewers by revealing that she resorted to artificial intelligence to try to draft her farewell message.
“I asked ChatGPT to help me say goodbye to you all and I didn’t like it,” he commented amidst laughter, generating complicity among his coworkers.
In an audio recorded beforehand to prevent emotion from overcoming her during the live broadcast, Belliard thanked those who were part of her history within the news program.
“There is much to be thankful for. Thank you to everyone who is part of this Telenoticias family. Today I stop belonging to this newsroom. I want to thank my colleagues, the executives, and the people who have been part of this story that enters a new stage today,” she expressed with a choked-up voice.
The journalist confessed that she chose to record part of her farewell due to the emotional weight involved in saying goodbye to the place she considered her professional home for a large part of her life.
“My voice is breaking, and that is precisely why I didn’t want to do it live, because of the emotions. The time has come to take new flights,” he/she stated.
Eveling Belliard’s departure represents the end of an era for “Telenoticias” and for several generations of Dominicans who found in her a figure of credibility and closeness. Her legacy remains linked to the history of national television journalism, where for nearly four decades she reported with responsibility, serenity, and deep respect for the audience.
Although she is leaving the newsroom where she grew professionally, Belliard assured that this farewell does not mean a definitive goodbye, but rather the beginning of a new stage in her life.
