Following publication in De Último Minuto, five men surrender for the rape of a minor in Los Tres Brazos

Santo Domingo.- After the news was released via De Último Minuto, five men accused of raping a 16-year-old teenager in the Los Tres Brazos sector voluntarily surrendered to the authorities, reported Diego Pesqueira, spokesman for the National Police. In that sense, Pesqueira explained that the complaint was filed immediately by the minor’s parents, which allowed the investigation to begin under the coordination of the Public Ministry. One of the accused surrendered through the media De Último Minuto, while the other four went directly to the authorities. The first people arrested are Julio José Mateo, 25 years old, and Brailyn Cepeda Ramírez, 19 years old, who appeared before the authorities as part of the legal process.

Adding to them are Harolyn José Martínez and Omar Reyes Vázquez, both 19 years old, who also surrendered voluntarily. Finally, Joel Morro Bell Peña, alias El Matatán, decided to surrender through the media. The individuals involved are at the Felicidad police detachment in Los Mina. Pesqueira pointed out that all the accused are residents of the Los Tres Brazos sector and are already in police custody, awaiting to be placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry for the corresponding legal purposes.

“We deeply regret this event. We reiterate that the authorities acted swiftly and that those charged will now face the corresponding judicial process,” said the spokesperson.

The National Police assured that it will continue to provide support to the victim and their family throughout the legal process, while ensuring that those responsible answer to justice.
