Florida. – The Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD Florida), in collaboration with Florida International University (FIU), will host the conference “2026 Annual Latino Poll and Presentation of Dominican Trends” next Thursday, July 23, an academic meeting designed to promote analysis, dialogue, and reflection on the challenges and opportunities facing Latino communities in the United States and the Dominican Republic.
The activity will bring together specialists, academics, community leaders, institutional representatives, and members of the Dominican diaspora to discuss the results of the 2026 Annual Latino Survey, a study that examines the evolution of the opinions, priorities, and main concerns of the Latino population in the United States, with special attention to Florida, one of the states with the greatest dynamism and influence of this community.
As part of the event, the publication Dominicas Trends 2026 will also be presented, a strategic analysis that addresses the main political, economic, social, security, and international trends currently affecting the Dominican Republic and that will contribute to defining its development in the coming years.
The organizers highlighted that the conference constitutes a valuable opportunity to strengthen the exchange of ideas between experts and citizens, generate a broader understanding of the changes that Latin American societies are experiencing, and offer useful information for the formulation of public policies, research, and decision-making.

Although the event was initially scheduled to be held in the Dominican Republic, time and logistical reasons led to it being held at the main campus of Florida International University (FIU), also allowing for greater participation from the academic community and the Dominican diaspora based in the United States.

Likewise, the possibility of broadcasting the conference live through Funglode’s official channels is being considered, with the purpose of expanding its reach and making it easier for researchers, students, professionals, and interested members of the public to follow the presentations and debates from different countries.
