The successful animated saga Hotel Transylvania is preparing to return to the big screen with a fifth installment that is already in development, as confirmed by actor Keegan-Michael Key, who voices the character of Murray, the mummy, within the franchise.
Although Sony Pictures Animation has not yet offered official details about the plot or the complete cast complete, the actor’s statements confirm that the project is moving forward, which has generated enthusiasm among the followers of the popular film series. If the usual production times are met, the premiere could take place around the year 2027.
The franchise has been one of the most successful in recent animated cinema, with the first three films surpassing $1.3 billion in worldwide box office, while its fourth installment, Hotel Transylvania: Transformania, was released directly on digital platforms, where it also obtained high public acceptance.
