Iberia activates plan to mitigate the impact of rising fuel prices on tickets
Madrid.– The airline Iberia has activated a plan of response to the increase in the price of aviation fuel, with the aim of reducing the impact on airfares and maintaining the stability of its operations, in a context marked by the volatility of the energy market.
The company, belonging to the IAG group, explained that it has fuel hedges of around 62% for 2026, a strategy that allows it to cushion the strong variations in the price of kerosene and soften its effect on passenger tickets.
Likewise, Iberia has implemented operational cost-saving measures to contain the impact of this increase, while ensuring that it does not plan to apply additional surcharges to customers or modify its flight schedule planned for the season.
