Mao, Valverde. – As part of the permanent efforts made by the Dominican Republic Army (ERD) to maintain border control, 129 Haitian nationals in irregular migratory condition were detained during operations carried out in different communities of Valverde province.
The operations were carried out by members of the ERD, who patrolled the Mao, Pueblo Nuevo, and Villa Los Almácigos sectors, belonging to the jurisdiction of the 4th Infantry Brigade.
From the total number of detainees, 61 are men and 68 are women, all without the legal documentation required to remain in Dominican territory.

The foreigners were transferred to the headquarters of the 4th Infantry Brigade, from where they were later handed over to the General Directorate of Migration (DGM) for the corresponding legal purposes.
