For tomorrow, Friday, Indomet indicated that a new upper-level trough, in combination with local effects and a wind shift to the east/northeast, will cause cloud cover increases with passing showers during the morning in areas such as La Altagracia, El Seíbo, Hato Mayor, María Trinidad Sánchez, Samaná, San Pedro de Macorís and La Romana. In the afternoon, rainfall will spread dispersedly towards Monte Plata, sectors of Gran Santo Domingo, Peravia, San Cristóbal, Monseñor Nouel, Sánchez Ramírez and La Vega, with a low probability of electrical storms and wind gusts.Saharan Dust and Heat Recommendations
The Saharan dust layer will persist over the country during the weekend, maintaining a hazy and dry environment, with reduced visibility in some areas. Temperatures will continue to be high, with maximum values between 33 °C and 35 °C, and minimums between 21 °C and 23 °C, mainly in urban and inland areas. Regarding the state of the sea, abnormal waves and winds are reported in sectors of both coasts: • Atlantic: From Cabo San Rafael (La Altagracia) to Cabo Cabrón (Samaná), fragile, small and medium-sized vessels are recommended to remain in port. • Caribbean: From Cayo Pisaje (Barahona) to Cabo Beata (Pedernales), the same recommendation is maintained. • In the rest of the coastal area, it is advised to navigate with caution and not venture out to sea.Cyclonic Surveillance
Indomet also reported an area of showers and thunderstorms associated with a low pressure in the North-Central Gulf of Mexico, with only a 10% chance of cyclonic development in 48 hours.
