Inespre's Food Route returns to the deep south this weekend with great offers

Santo Domingo. – The Price Stabilization Institute (Inespre) announced that its Food Route will return this weekend to the deep south, with great offers for residents of the provinces of Independencia, Bahoruco and Barahona. The executive director of Inespre, David Herrera Díaz, explained that this initiative seeks to offer citizens a wide variety of foods at fair prices, eliminating intermediation and connecting producers directly with consumers. Herrera Díaz reported that this Friday 26th the Food Route, made up of the platform truck and mobile warehouses loaded with food, will be in the Central Park of La Descubierta (Independencia), as well as in the central parks of Villa Jaragua and Neiba (Bahoruco).

The official added that mobile warehouses will also be installed in the central parks of Los Ríos, Postrer Río and Las Clavellinas in Bahoruco. He also indicated that on Saturday 27th, the Food Route will reach the central parks of Galván and Tamayo (Bahoruco), as well as that of Vicente Noble in Barahona. That same day, the mobile warehouses will be in the Central Park of Fondo Negro in Bahoruco and in Barahona, in the Municipal District of Canoa, specifically at the Esquina Esperanza Carlota. Herrera Díaz announced that residents of these provinces will be able to purchase at a low cost products such as: whole chickens of approximately 4 pounds at RD$200, cartons of 30 eggs at RD$160, 25-pound bags of select rice at RD$750, 2-pound onion nets at RD$80, 800-gram bags of sunflower beans at RD$50, plantains at RD$3, green bananas at RD$1 each, among others. "This action is part of the plan of President Luis Abinader's government to guarantee food security to the population," the official emphasized.
