Interior and Police suspends agents involved in the deaths of five men in Santiago

Santo Domingo.– The Ministry of Interior and Police reported this Friday that, in light of the events recorded in the city of Santiago, the National Police General Directorate ordered the immediate suspension of the agents involved, who have already been placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry. The institution assured through a statement that it will maintain an exhaustive investigation with full transparency, reiterating that there will be no room for impunity.

“We reaffirm our commitment to take this investigation to its ultimate consequences, with absolute transparency. There will be no impunity: order is only sustained by legality and justice. We will fully assume the corresponding responsibilities”, indicated the official statement.

With this measure, the Ministry of Interior and Police seeks to ensure that disciplinary processes are conducted in accordance with the law and reaffirms its stance of zero tolerance for any action that deviates from the principles of legality and justice.
