In this collection, the Instituto Superior gathers 10 stories by prominent authors as pioneers of Dominican children's literature Santo Domingo. - The Salomé Ureña Higher Institute of Teacher Training, ISFODOSU, released 10 books compiled in the Collection of Dominican Children's Stories, Series I, within the framework of the activities developed by the academy at the XXVII Santo Domingo International Book Fair 2025. During the launch event, the rector of the university, Nurys González Durán, presented the iconic collection that includes 10 stories by prominent authors who are pioneers of the short story in Dominican children's literature.

"ISFODOSU, as an institution specialized in teacher training, dedicates resources, time, and effort to edit valuable publications for Dominican students and the general public," said the rector.

González Durán highlighted the effort of the editorial and technical team that worked on these works, which he called "of great value", emphasizing the selection, layout, and illustrations process: "we have the work of selecting Dominican children's stories, by the writer Tulio Cordero, and illustrated by the artist José Segura, who, in addition to being an illustrator, is the coordinator of the Artistic Education area of the Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic, MINERD".

"This collection that we present today, at this XXVII International Book Fair, is composed of a total of 10 works by authors whom we have called the pioneers, because they were among the first Dominican authors to publish children's stories in our literature," said the rector.

Cordero considered the language enrichment objective pursued by these works circulated by ISFODOSU and indicated that "although they are stories written for boys and girls, sometimes the language will be rather cultured and elevated; or words in disuse in our daily language will appear," Cordero specified.
