SANTO DOMINGO. – The Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM) announced the postponement of the two games scheduled for this Thursday, October 23, 2025, due to the indirect effects caused by the passage of Tropical Storm Melissa over the national territory.

The affected matches are Gigantes del Cibao vs. Tigres del Licey, which would be played at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal stadium (rescheduled from October 17), and Águilas Cibaeñas vs. Estrellas Orientales, scheduled for the Tetelo Vargas stadium in San Pedro de Macorís, corresponding to the match suspended on October 21.
After consulting with its climate advisor, Jean Suriel, LIDOM made the decision to postpone both commitments, in accordance with the provisions of the emergency and meteorological authorities, who have recommended avoiding mass activities while adverse atmospheric conditions persist.
The league reiterated that the safety of players, fans, and operational staff is its top priority in the face of these types of situations.
The new reassignment date for the celebration of both meetings will be announced soon.
