Santo Domingo. – Dr. Luis Cruz Camacho made an energetic call to the Dominican population to take preventive measures and avoid actions that put their lives at risk in the face of the rains and possible floods caused by Tropical Storm Humberto, which affects a large part of the national territory.
The doctor and community leader urged families not to cross streams, rivers or ravines while bad weather conditions persist, reminding them that this type of recklessness is usually one of the main causes of tragedies during atmospheric phenomena.
"It is essential that every citizen understands that life has no replacement. Today more than ever we must act wisely, protect our loved ones and follow the recommendations of the rescue organizations to the letter," said Dr. Cruz Camacho.
He also emphasized the need for the population to stay informed through official sources such as the Emergency Operations Center (COE) and the National Office of Meteorology (ONAMET), to be aware of the alerts and provisions that are issued.
Dr. Luis Cruz Camacho reiterated that prevention and prudence are key to avoiding human and material losses, while expressing his solidarity with the families that may be affected by the storm.
