Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado and president-elect Edmundo González Urrutia have called for an emergency meeting this Wednesday with the parties that make up the Unitary Democratic Platform (PUD) and other organizations that signed the Panama Manifesto, with the aim of learning the details of the so-called “joint work agenda” announced by representatives of the 2015 National Assembly.
The meeting seeks to gather information on the scope of the agreement, which was disclosed this Tuesday through social media by members of the 2015 Parliament, led by its president, Dinorah Figuera, and to define a joint public position regarding the initiative.
In a statement, Machado and González Urrutia reiterated that any political agreement or decision must prioritize the needs of the Venezuelan people and respect the mandate expressed by the citizens.

Both leaders pointed out that the meeting will allow for evaluating the content of the roadmap and coordinating a response among opposition forces, in a context marked by negotiations and recent overtures between Washington and Caracas.
