Santo Domingo.– A 33-year-old woman was found dead this Monday morning inside her home, located on Respaldo 25 Street in the Buena Vista I sector, in an incident that is being investigated as an alleged femicide.
The victim was identified as Maydarlyn Yunerki Acosta Almánzar, while the alleged perpetrator is her partner, Erick Antonio Gómez Torres, who was arrested by members of the National Police.
The institution’s spokesperson, Colonel Diego Pesqueira, reported that the body was found around 9:00 in the morning.
According to the medical examiner, the woman had blunt force trauma on different parts of her body.
According to preliminary information gathered at the scene, at the time the officers arrived at the home, the man remained sitting next to the woman’s lifeless body. Likewise, it transpired that he had even offered coffee to the police officers who arrived at the scene before being arrested.

The case is being investigated by the National Police and the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which are working on collecting evidence to establish the circumstances of the incident and proceed with bringing the detainee to justice.
