Man confesses to taking the life of a 16-year-old girl

Santo Domingo. - The main suspect in the murder of the teenager Lewanny Pichardo Rodríguez, 16 years old, Domingo Gómez, 31 years old, in an event that occurred last weekend in the El Plan 1 sector of the municipality of El Pino, Dajabón province, surrendered to the authorities this Monday in Santiago after being located through intelligence work by the National Police. Coordinated delivery after being located by the authorities According to the authorities' data, Gómez was located in Santiago by agents of the Criminal Investigations Department (DICRIM) of Dajabón, who were following the case. After being located, the man agreed to surrender voluntarily through a team from the television program directed by the communicator José Gutiérrez, at the headquarters of the National Police in that city. In that sense, the operation was led by Major Nova, provincial head of the DICRIM in Dajabón, along with Commander De La Rosa, alias «La Soguita», and an elite team from the institution, in coordination with police officers stationed in Santiago. Confession of the crime During his surrender, Gómez confessed to having murdered the young Lewanny Pichardo, alleging that he maintained a sentimental relationship with her. According to his version, both were consuming marijuana on the day of the event and an argument due to jealousy ended in the tragic outcome, in which he allegedly used a bladed weapon.
