Man turns himself in for killing young person at fast food stand in SFM

San Francisco de Macorís.- A young man identified as the alleged perpetrator of a shooting that left one person dead and another injured at a fast-food stand in this municipality turned himself in voluntarily to the Northeast Regional Directorate of the National Police.

The detainee was identified as Jonathan Romero, alias “El Negro”, a resident of the San Martín sector (Rabo Chivo). Romero appeared at the police station accompanied by his legal representative, lawyer Francisco Rodríguez, after being linked to the incident that occurred early last Monday in the vicinity of the Martyrs’ Park.

In the incident, Miguel Ramón Cruz Gómez, known as “Miguelito”, 31 years old and a resident of the Guiza community, lost his life. According to preliminary information, a young woman was also wounded by a gunshot to one of her legs.

The authorities reported that Jonathan Romero will be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the corresponding legal proceedings, while investigations continue to clarify the circumstances of the case.
