Santo Domingo.- The Miss Dominican Republic Organization officially presented this Wednesday the second group of candidates who will seek to win the national crown in the 2026 edition of the pageant, a special installment that celebrates 70 years of Dominican participation in Miss Universe. The event took place at the Paseo de las Estrellas of Downtown Center Santo Domingo, bringing together media, sponsors, and special guests.
The contestants walked down a modern runway that combined elegance, technology, and spectacle, showcasing for the first time the sashes that accredit them as representatives of their respective communities. The traditional Sash Ceremony once again became one of the most emotional moments of the night, symbolizing the commitment and pride of representing their provinces and municipalities.
Among the delegates presented are representatives from Jarabacoa, San Juan, Punta Cana, La Vega, Dominican Community USA North, Samaná, Dominican Community USA South, Azua, Puerto Plata, Concepción de La Vega, Duarte, Bahoruco, National District, El Cercado, Santiago Rodríguez, San Francisco de Macorís, Santo Domingo East, Peravia, San José de Ocoa, San Pedro de Macorís, Santo Domingo de Guzmán, Santiago, La Romana, Pedro Brand, Higüey, Monseñor Nouel, Santiago de los Caballeros, Santo Domingo West, Monte Plata, and Juan Dolio.

During the activity, the organization also highlighted the social purpose of this edition, dedicated to the Casa del Autismo, an initiative that has received the support of the pageant since 2022 and which works on behalf of children, youth, and families on the autism spectrum. With this cause, Miss Dominican Republic reaffirms its commitment to community service and the integral development of the Dominican woman.
The national director of the pageant, Magali Febles, highlighted that this edition represents a milestone for the organization and for the country, as it celebrates seven decades of history in one of the most important beauty pageants in the world. Likewise, she highlighted the positioning achieved by the Dominican Republic in Miss Universe and the role of its representatives as ambassadors of culture, tourism, and national identity.
The night also served to reveal new details about the grand finale of Miss Dominican Republic 2026, scheduled for next July 30th at 8:00 p.m. and which will be broadcast live on Color Visión, Channel 9. Meanwhile, the representatives for Pedernales, Valverde, Santo Domingo Norte, La Altagracia, Hato Mayor, and Espaillat are still to be presented, thus completing the official roster of candidates for the national crown.
