Santiago. The bishop emeritus of La Vega, Monsignor Antonio Camilo González, passed away this Friday while he was admitted to the Unión Médica clinic in Santiago.
Monsignor Camilo González was born on February 7, 1938 in the community of Ojo de Agua, Salcedo, son of Antonio Camilo Pantaleón and Caridad González Garrido.
During his religious formation, he studied Philosophy and Theology in Argentina and Spain, preparing for a career dedicated to pastoral service. He was ordained a priest on July 1, 1962.
Throughout his religious ministry, he held various responsibilities within the Dominican Catholic Church, including leading the diocese of La Vega, where he served as bishop before assuming emeritus status.
